The curatorial theme of this anniversary is Forever Young, a month-long exhibition featuring all current gallery artists, on view from September 1 – 30, 2025. The celebration culminates with a celebration event on Saturday, September 20, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the mayor of Burlingame, live music, cocktails, and a vibrant showcase of art and gallery history.

This September, Studio Shop Gallery, the oldest retail business in Burlingame and one of California’s longest-standing art galleries, celebrates a remarkable milestone: 110 years of connecting people with fine art, custom framing, and community. Established in 1915, the gallery has not only survived – it has flourished – through wars, challenging economic times, shifting cultural landscapes, and a rapidly evolving art market.
From its humble beginnings as a framing shop and photography studio run by Ralph and Dorothy Crawford to today’s contemporary, curator-led exhibition space under the leadership of the Martin family, Studio Shop Gallery has remained fiercely independent, family-owned and artist-focused for five generations. Its story is one of grit, invention, personability, and creative spirit – a rarity in the art world.
